Hospital Observation Program
The
Hospital Observation Program is a program for high
school students interested in pursuing a career in
health care. Generally, there are two sections held
per year, one in the fall, one in the spring, with
each section taking up to two students per
secondary school.
The program consists of an orientation session and five observation sessions, each in a different area of the hospital. Students will shadow a nurse or health care worker for one morning per week each of those five weeks.
Students are selected based on their age, their career choice, and their grades in the sciences. Preference is given to grade 12 students with high grades in the senior sciences. For an application package, see Mr. Fedrau in the Counselling Center. Please note: all students who participate in this program must have their TB test completed with their application package.
